General

The Gwili Railway can accept no liability to operate advertised services or attractions. A diesel locomotive may have to be substituted at short notice for operational reasons. 

  • Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published timetable, all dates, times and services are subject to amendment or cancellation. The Gwili Railway Company (GR) cannot be held responsible for any loss or inconvenience should it become necessary to alter or cancel the advertised services.
  • The GR reserve the right to ask any member of the public to leave the railway if it is deemed necessary to do so, including if they are seen using abusive language, unruly behaviour that is likely to cause themselves or others harm or damage any property.
  • Dogs are allowed to travel, but are not allowed to stand on the seating or tables. You may be asked to leave if they do so.
  • No alcohol other than that purchased on the railway may be consumed on our property. You will be asked to leave if you do so.
  • Tickets should be purchased at the station ticket office before boarding the train. It is an offence to travel without a ticket.

Late Arrivals

We advise you to check the timetable before travelling and allow at least 30 minutes before the time of departure to park your car, purchase your tickets and board the train.

  • Under no circumstances will the train be delayed for latecomers, even if the rest of the party is already on the train.
  • No refunds will be given for missed trains.

Bookings

All bookings are subject to availability, varying ticket terms and conditions may apply.

You may pay over the phone by credit card or by sending a cheque or you can call in and pay cash. Some bookings can be made over the Internet.

  • An administration fee may be applicable on some bookings.

Advance reservations are held for 7 days and are cancelled if payment or deposit is not received in that period. A minimum deposit of 25% will be required for all bookings.

  • All payments should be made in one transaction, unless a deposit has been agreed. Payment by instalments is not accepted for any bookings.

When payment has been received your tickets will be dispatched via the method selected when you made your purchase.

Tickets will be posted as soon as possible. Please allow 14 – 21 days for delivery. Alternatively tickets can be collected from Bronwydd Arms ticket office.

Damage

Passengers will be held responsible for any damages they may cause to any part of the railway stock or premises and will be charged the full cost of repairs.

Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

It may be possible to change the date and time of a ticket once it has been confirmed, depending on the type and availability.

  • Changes will carry a minimum of £5.00 administration fee.

If you choose not to use your ticket, refunds will depend on the conditions applicable to each ticket type and refunds may not be given on certain types. The issuing of refunds will be at the discretion of the Duty Officer.

  • Cancellations and refunds will carry a minimum of a £5 administration charge.

Group Bookings

All bookings are treated as provisional until a minimum of 25% of the total cost has been received as a deposit. The deposit must be received within 7 days of booking or the order will be cancelled without notice.

  • The client must inform the GR of the anticipated group numbers and required train not less than 7 days before the date of travel.
  • Final numbers must be given to the GR at least 48 hours prior to the booked date. The amount payable by the client will be calculated on this final number or who actually attend, whichever is the greatest.

Payment of the remaining balance is due on the day of travel and is payable at the Booking Office at Bronwydd Station, unless credit has been prearranged with the GR before the travel date.

  • Where credit is agreed the client should pay within 28 days of the invoice.

Deposits paid are not refundable, although it may be possible to transfer the booking to another date.

  • An administration fee of £5 may be charged.

Full payment will be required unless 7 days notice of cancellation is given in writing.

Damage

The client will be held responsible for any damages caused by the clients or their guests, agents, employees etc and will be charged the full cost of repairs.

Special Events

Murder Mystery Trains


Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tickets include travel, entertainment and a meal. Seating is reserved.

  • Full payment for tickets must be at the time of booking or within 7 days.
  • Parties of more than 8 people may pay 25% of the total cost as a non-refundable deposit. This deposit must be received within 7 days of booking or the order will be cancelled without notice. The remaining balance must be received no later than one month before travel.

Bookings will be cancelled if the necessary payment is not received within the required timescale.

  • An administration fee will be charged per transaction at the time of booking.
  • Menu choices must be received no later than 7 days before the date of travel.

Easter, Classic Car, Halloween/Ghost Express, Teddy Bears’ Picnic and Galas

  • Special Fares will apply for these events. See the individual leaflets for details.
  • Tickets purchased in advance may have a discount if purchased 7 days before the event.
  • All tickets are ‘day rover tickets’ and do not have reserved seats.
  • Passengers with tickets do not need to visit the ticket offices and can board the train.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • When payment has been processed, tickets will be dispatched via the method selected when you made your purchase.
  • Tickets will be posted as soon as possible. Please allow 14 – 21 days for delivery.
  • For late bookings, tickets will be held at reception. The location of this will be advised.

Santa Specials


Tickets include travel, entertainment, seasonal refreshment and a visit to the grotto. Children are entitled to see Santa and receive a present.

  • Nobody is permitted to travel without a ticket, regardless of their age.
  • Tickets are divided into three age groups – 0 to 2 years old, 3 to 11 and 12 and over. Children 11 and under receive presents from Santa.
  • The railway must be notified of any children or adults with special needs at the time of booking and we will make every effort to accommodate them.
  • Full payment for tickets must be at the time of booking or within 7 days, except for parties of 20 people or more.
  • Parties of 20 or more people may pay 25% of the total cost as a non-refundable deposit. This deposit must be received within 7 days of booking or the order will be cancelled without notice. The remaining balance must be received no later than one month before travel.
  • Bookings will be cancelled if the necessary payment is not received within the required timescale.
  • An administration fee will be charged per transaction at the time of booking.
  • Tickets must be shown at reception and then taken through the grotto with you, in order to see Santa.
