Before you travel to the railway please visit the website or Facebook page to check for service changes. Please call 01267 238213 no later than 4.00pm the day before you travel.

The Gwili Railway can accept no liability for failure to operate advertised services or attractions. A Diesel locomotive may have to be substituted for steam locomotive at short notice for operational reasons. Information correct at time of going to print. Cancelled services - your ticket will be transferred to another date.

VOUCHERS: 2 for 1, Family and Activity Superstore Vouchers are not valid for October Half Term and Santa Trains as they are classed as special events. Vouchers are only valid against a standard fare. We now operate a compartment class ticket.
Terms state they are valid for use on standard travel only. Activity Superstore Vouchers were suspended in March due to Covid. Please contact the online Activity Superstore for refunds.

Please call the office before you travel to check availability. Gwili Railway October timetable has departures leaving Bronwydd Arms at: 10.30, 13.00, 15.30.

Sunday Dining services, please note these services are a limited service with extended running times and are not suitable for foot passengers. Steam Driver Experience Days are a closed event and not available for foot passengers, please check before travel. Booking system and post Covid-19 'What's On' Calendar update:

The 2020 'What's On' calendar booking system has been changed to meet the new Covid-19 travel guidelines. For queries or bookings please call the ticket office; 01267 238213 from October 2020 onwards. If there is no one available please leave a message and our booking team will get back to you.

For running days always check the ‘What’s On’ page where our helpful calendar tells you what’s on that month. The Gwili Railway new timetable departs Bronwydd Arms at: 10.30/13.00/15.30.

Halloween Ghost Express: 10.30/13.00/15.30 October 31

Santa’s Magical Steam Trains: December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20

How will we operate with the Covid-19 travel guidelines?

The railway will ensure we can maintain a safe service for our staff, volunteers and our passengers. Please do not attend if you are unwell or have symptoms.

We will do the following:

  • Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout the stations
  • Wear a mask as per Welsh Government Transport Legislation
  • Please wash your hands regularly
  •  Please keep a safe distance 2m
  • Compartment tickets will only be available to book online,
    walk-in bookings are prohibited
  • Walk in bookings are strictly forbidden for Covid safe reasons

What we require you to do when travelling
on the Gwili Railway:

  • Passengers must arrive at east 30 minutes before departure so we can process your booking
  • Access to your reserved compartment will be allocated 10 minutes before departure
  • The car park will only be available for booked passengers and staff
  • Stay in your allocated compartments, tickets a per compartment based on 6 family members
  • There will be a maximum of 6 passengers allowed in a booked compartment, any extra passengers will not be allowed to travel
  • Follow the directional signs and prompts from our friendly staff and volunteers
  • Takeaway food and drink service from the Vintage Tea Rooms
  • There will be no allocated stopovers at Danycoed, Llwyfan Cerrig or Abergwili Junction
  • Passengers must remain in their compartments for the journey bar toilet breaks, toilets available at Bronwydd Arms Station. Llwyfan Cerrig toilets subject to staffing
  • Toilets are for single use only
  • No standing in corridors or doorways

Buying Tickets

Tickets for Gwili Railway can be bought here online, ticket office bookings at Bronwydd Arms are presently suspended. Walk on bookings are strictly prohibited due to Covid-19 travel guidelines.

We strongly recommend booking in advance to ensure that you can travel on the train of your choice, particularly when there's a special event. Booking on our Christmas trains is essential. When you book online please ensure you bring a printed receipt of purchase when you arrive at the ticket office.
